● Trakt → NextEp · the export ZIP, unchanged

Import your Trakt history in about a minute.

Trakt's own export is the only file you need. Upload the ZIP exactly as Trakt gives it to you and every show lands on the exact episode you were on. No scripts, no API keys, no CSV conversion.

Free, no ads. No card, nothing to unlock.

Three steps

Nothing on Trakt changes. You can run both while you decide.

1

Export from Trakt

Settings → Data → Export. Trakt builds a ZIP of JSON files: watched history, ratings, lists, hidden items. Download it when it is ready.

2

Open the NextEp importer

app.nextep.show/import on any phone or computer. You can start without an account.

3

Upload the ZIP as-is

Do not unzip it. NextEp reads the whole bundle and places every show on the exact episode you were on.

Importing from Trakt - FAQ

Where is the export in Trakt?

Signed in to Trakt, open Settings, then the Data tab, and choose Export. Trakt packages your account into one ZIP of JSON files (watched history, ratings, lists, hidden items). Download it when it is ready.

Do I need to unzip it or convert it to CSV?

No. Upload the ZIP exactly as Trakt gave it to you. NextEp reads the JSON bundle directly and rebuilds a per-episode position for every show. Two people tried converting it by hand before this existed; you do not need to.

What comes across?

Every episode play, so each show is placed on the exact episode you were on; your show ratings on the 1 to 10 scale you used; your watchlist, which becomes your for-later shelf; and shows you hid from progress, which become archived.

What does not come across?

Movies, because NextEp is television only. Specials (season 0) are read but do not move a show's position. Comments and custom lists other than the watchlist are not imported.

Is Trakt VIP needed to export?

Export lives in Settings → Data on your Trakt account. If you cannot see it, check Trakt's help pages for your account type.

Does importing change anything on Trakt?

No. NextEp only reads the file you upload. Your Trakt account is untouched, so you can run both while you decide.

Can I import more than once?

Yes. Importing a newer export updates positions rather than duplicating shows.

Can I get my data back out?

Any time: one click exports everything to JSON or CSV.

Export the ZIP, drop it in, done.
